Nickelback Adds Change to the Top Tens; Wicked, Boston Red Sox, Celine Dion Stay on Top

TicketNews.com releases its exclusive weekly Top 10s today. Read on for a look at this week’s hot events.

One of these things is not like the others. The Overall Top Events list features eight of last week’s events and limited movement within the rankings. If you’re looking for a little deviation, Nickelback adds some change. The band takes number seven on the chart, bumping Kenny Chesney out of the rankings. Toby Keith is also new to the chart this week, replacing Tim McGraw and Faith Hill in the number ten spot. Wicked remains number one with the Boston Red Sox at two and Jersey Boys at three.

Jamie McMurray edges out Kyle Busch by 0.005 seconds in the Pepsi 400; the race snags a spot in the Sports Top Tens by a much more comfortable margin. It takes number eight in the rankings, passing the Dallas Cowboys at number ten and the Atlanta Braves at number nine. Major League Baseball continues to dominate the chart, taking seven of the top ten positions including the first five, with the Boston Red Sox leading the pack . . .

In the Theatre rankings Spring Awakening is having another “off” week while Hairspray looks to get big. The latter is generating a great deal of buzz lately with *NSYNC’s Lance Bass to join the cast in August. Additionally, July 20 a film version of the musical hits theaters with a star-studded cast including John Travolta, Michelle Pfeiffer, Queen Latifah, and Christopher Walken. All the hype puts Hairspray on the Top Theatre chart at number eight and moves it up three spots to number seven in the Top New York City Theatre rankings.

Rush, Jimmy Buffett, and Bon Jovi disappear from the Top Concerts chart this week. Michael Bublé, Beyoncé, and Céline Dion fill the blanks. Michael Bublé ranks at number six, Beyoncé claims number eight, and Céline Dion takes number nine. Nickelback soars up the chart from number eight to number two, while Kenny Chesney does a boot scootin’ boogie from two to ten.

Elton John’s Red Piano is red hot again this week, jumping from number six to number two on the Top Las Vegas Shows chart, putting it just below reigning number one Céline Dion. Bette Midler is back this week at number nine, as are Le Rêve at number seven, David Copperfield at number eight, and Toni Braxton at number ten. Casualties this week include Blue Man Group, Barry Manilow, Jubilee!, and Fab Four, all of which get knocked out of the rankings.
